What You’ll See at the Show

  • Meet over 100 pedigreed cats, kittens, and household pets! Talk to the owners, learn the breeds, find the one that’s right for you!
  • Watch the “Parade of Breeds” presentation each day, as trainee judges introduce the breeds and show you what makes each one special!
  • Visit our Vendors of everything your cat might want — plus some things you’ll likely want yourself!
  • Join the fun at the “Kitty Playoffs” on Sunday as we pick the most playful cat in show!
  • All weekend long, you can vote for your favorite cat — this “Spectator’s Choice” cat will receive a special rosette on Sunday.

More Information for Visitors

  • Please do not walk into the judging rings to look at the cats in the judging cages. This is the only off limits area in a cat show. Most owners will be happy to show off their cats and answer any questions you may have while you walk through the benching area.
  • Watch out for people carrying cats and allow them to pass. People holding cats should always have the right of way. They are trying to get to and from a judging ring and keep the show on schedule
  • If you hear someone yell “CAT OUT!” please stand still and let the owner catch the cat. DO NOT TRY TO CATCH THE CAT!
  • Some cats are easily frightened by loud noises or sudden movements. If you have children with you, please do your best to contain their excitement and keep running and shouting to a minimum in the show hall.
  • Cats are susceptible to a large range of diseases which can be carried from cat to cat by human hands. Please do not pet any cat without asking the owner first. If the owner says “yes,” you may be asked to disinfect your hands first.

  • You are welcome to take pictures of all the cats in the hall, especially as they are being judged!

Benching & Supplies: Double wire cages (22” x 22” x 44”) are available upon request if you are not bringing your personal cage. We must know who will be providing their own cages in order to set up the benching area properly. A single cage space (22” x 22”) is provided for each cat entered. Two (2) kittens or one (1) cat are permitted in a single cage. No kitten under 3 months of age will be allowed in the show hall (be prepared to show proof of age.) If you are bringing your own cage, even if only a single-width cage, you must purchase the extra ½ (double) cage space. A grooming space is the same size as a double cage space: 22” x 44”. All cages must be covered on the top, sides, back, and bottom. Everyone is expected to supply their own litter and litter boxes; however, we will have a limited amount of litter and disposable cardboard litter boxes as a courtesy to our exhibitors who fly in to exhibit at our show. Special benching requests will be honored to the best of our ability. Only one benching request may be submitted. Agent requests take priority over benching requests. Clerks will be benched first. Vending from the benching area is prohibited.

Health Requirements: This is a non–vetted show. Any cat showing signs of illness, parasites, or fungus will be escorted from the show hall, along with any cats owned, housed or agented by the same exhibitor. All entries should be vaccinated against feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, and feline enteritis, and should test negative for feline leukemia and feline AIDS. Any cat or kitten from a house or cattery where there has been fungus or any infectious or contagious illness within 21 days before the opening date of the show is ineligible for entry and/or exhibition. Any cat that is pregnant or lactating will be disqualified. New York law requires any animal over the age of 4 months to be vaccinated against rabies (be prepared to show proof)! TICA show rules require all claws, front and back, to be clipped before benching.

Registration Rules: No Kitten, Cat, or Alter may be entered in the show with a “registration pending” unless accompanied by documentation showing the cat is eligible for registration in TICA.  TOES will prompt the exhibitor for this documentation

For Sale: Sales cages will be available to exhibitors ONLY and must be owned by the same/paid exhibitor. Kittens must be three (3) calendar months of age. Proof of age must be provided on request. No kittens-cats may be confined to carriers during show hours. Any person disregarding these rules will be asked to leave the show. Project Meow takes no responsibility for your failure to familiarize yourself with applicable NY livestock and personal pet statutes.

Kittens: All kittens entered for competition must be at least four (4) and not more than eight (8) calendar months old on the day of the show. Kittens may be spayed or neutered.

Household PetsHousehold pets over 8 months of age MUST be spayed or neutered. If you are not sure of the proper division or color of your cat, check out http://www.seregiontica.org/Colors/intro.htm or send the entry clerk a color photo of your entry. The photo will be returned at check-in. Declawed Household Pets are OK at TICA shows. This is due to the number of HHPs that are declawed rescue cats.
